Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use Atom Budget. We have tried to write them the way we write everything else: plainly, and matching what the product actually does. Using Atom Budget means you agree to them.

1. Who we are

Atom Budget is operated by Bunker Studios LLC ("we", "us"), a Florida limited liability company, doing business as Atom Budget. You can reach us at [email protected].

2. The service

Atom Budget is a budgeting tool built around one idea: knowing how much of each paycheck already belongs to bills that have not arrived yet. The budgeting engine, including incomes, expenses, schedules, categories and the per-paycheck allocation, is free, with no card required and no time limit.

Atom Budget Pro is a paid subscription that adds bank connections: your account balances read from your bank, and your recurring bills and income found in your statements so you do not have to enter them by hand.

Atom Budget is intended for use by residents of the United States. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

3. Your account

  • You are responsible for your account credentials and for what happens under them. We offer two-factor authentication in settings and recommend turning it on.
  • Give us accurate information, and keep your email address current. It is how we reach you about your account and, if you subscribe, your billing.
  • An account is for one person. Do not share credentials or use someone else's account.

4. Subscriptions and billing

  • Price. Atom Budget Pro is $8 per month, or $80 per year. Prices are in US dollars. If we change a price, we will tell you in advance, and the change takes effect at your next renewal.
  • Billing. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel.
  • Cancelling. You can cancel any time from the subscription page in settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and you keep Pro until then.
  • What downgrading means. When your subscription ends, your account and your entire budget stay, including everything you imported from your bank. What ends is the bank connection itself: live balances stop, the connection is revoked at your bank, and the stored bank data is deleted. Subscribing again brings the feature back; your budget never left.
  • Refunds. Partial billing periods are not refunded. If you believe something has gone wrong with your billing, contact us and we will make it right.

5. Bank connections

  • Bank connections are made through Plaid Inc. and are read-only. Atom Budget cannot move money, and we never receive or store your bank username or password.
  • We ask for your explicit consent before every connection, and you can disconnect any bank at any time in settings. Disconnecting revokes our access at your bank and deletes the stored account data, as the confirmation screen describes.
  • The figures we show depend on what your bank reports and when. Balances carry a timestamp for exactly this reason; a bank that stops updating is flagged in the app.

6. Not financial advice

Atom Budget does arithmetic on the numbers you give it and the numbers your bank reports. It is a planning tool, not a financial adviser, and nothing in the product is investment, legal, or tax advice. Check the figures before making decisions that matter, and know that you are responsible for your financial choices.

7. Your data

Your budget is yours. What we collect, why, who else sees it, and how to delete it are covered by our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms. Deleting your account permanently removes your data and, if you have one, cancels your subscription first.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Atom Budget for anything unlawful;
  • probe, breach, or test the security of the service;
  • access it with tools that scrape, harvest, or bulk-download beyond normal use;
  • connect financial accounts that are not yours to connect;
  • resell, rent, or misrepresent the service as your own.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep Atom Budget available and fast, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may add, change, or remove features. If we ever discontinue something you are paying for, we will tell you in advance and you can cancel before your next renewal.

10. Termination

You can stop using Atom Budget, or delete your account from settings, at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, after warning you when that is reasonable. If we terminate your paid subscription without cause, we will refund the unused portion of what you paid.

11. Disclaimers

Atom Budget is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Bunker Studios LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost data, arising from your use of Atom Budget. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or $100 if you have paid us nothing. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

14. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms materially, we will tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect, and update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Atom Budget after a change takes effect means you accept it.
